The new energy from Argos
In Neuss, just across the border with Germany, Argos has started a unique project for producing clean energy. It is called ‘Hummel’ (the German word for ‘bumblebee’) and involves a unique form of energy production that is completely carbon neutral, eco-friendly and economically profitable.
The power station
The power station consists of several modular generators. The method involves very slow-rotating turbines that run on vegetable oils. The engines are extremely energy efficient, have very few emissions and are practically maintenance-free.
The site has room for 50 such ‘bumblebees’; 30 are operational at this time. They produce power and heat, which is delivered directly to the external power grid. This is an innovative and sustainable form of energy production that the whole world is watching with interest.
You can find details about it on the Hummel Energie Systemen website
